Madeira Dig International Digital Arts Festival (Calheta)

The Madeira Dig International Digital Arts Festival celebrates its 20th edition, emphasising Madeira as an attractive cultural destination for a young and dynamic public. Held at Mudas. Museum of Contemporary Art, the John dos Passos Cultural Centre and the Estalagem da Ponta do Sol, it promotes a fusion of culture, environmental awareness and entertainment amidst nature, with strong connection to an urban lifestyle.

This year’s event showcases a very varied line-up of both international and national artists, including Raphael Rogiński, Christina Kubisch, Bendik Giske, David Grubbs, Evicshen, NikNak, Brighde Chaimbeul, the trio ‘Contagious’ (Andrea Neumann, Sabine Ercklentz and Mieko Suzuki), and the Portuguese pianist Simão Costa. Also noteworthy is the audiovisual piece ‘Beyond Echoes’, by Nik Cold Void and MAOTIK, which explores themes such as time and the harmony between order and chaos.

Established in 2004, ‘Madeira Dig’ Festival consolidates the status of Madeira as a leading cultural destination.
